Services | A comprehensive medical eye exam should include all of the following:
A Detailed Case History: You will be asked questions about your vision, your family history, and your general health.
Visual Testing: Using lenses and prisms to evaluate various optical, muscular, and neurological characteristics of the visual system. These tests will help determine if corrective lenses are needed.
Eye Function Tests: Evaluate peripheral vision, pupils responses, and motor coordination (eye movements).
Slit Lamp Exam: A special microscope is used to examine the structure of the internal and external parts of the eye, checking for diseases, in addition to this the doctor may use an instrument called a BIO to further examine the inside of the eye. This usually requires dilating the eyes which is the most thorough method of examination.
In addition to these tests, we check color vision, depth perception, pachymetry, and in order to track progression of eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy may take digital photo's of the back of the eye.
